Soymilk is made from soybeans. But did you know that there are different types of soybeans? Edamame, green soybeans, are served in Japanese restaurants. Then there are black soybeans and finally, yellow soybeans, which are used to make soymilk. How is soymilk made? The beans are crushed and blended with water. Then the mixture is strained and boiled.
I started drinking this brand of soymilk about 10 years ago, yet very few people I know have tried it. This has got to be the best soymilk I have ever tasted. It beats out Silk and it’s even better than the freshly made soymilk available at Chinese grocery stores. Vitasoy makes several different lines of soymilk so you have to get this specific one. The name of the soymilk is in Chinese, pronounced “san sur”, meaning mountain water. It might as well be soymilk from a mountain spring because it is absolutely, refreshing and addictive!
There are different versions of this soymilk, such as fiber enriched and unsweetened. This blue trim one is the sweetened and vitamin enriched version, with Calcium, Iron, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Vitamin A, Ribloflavin, and Zinc. Vitasoy “San Sur” soymilk is also a great alternative to milk in coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and yerba mate latte, of course!!! It won’t give you the bean taste that other soymilks have. Best of all, this soymilk is incredibly cheap, around $1.19 for 64 oz.! You can’t buy a one serving, bottle of Silk soymilk for that price. Vitasoy “San Sur” soymilk is available at many Chinese grocery stores. Try it and love it. =)
