I was at Draeger’s natural supermarket in San Mateo, CA, and discovered GUS natural soda. If you’ve never been to Draeger’s, they have a gourmet restaurant, kitchen supply and gift shop, and cooking school on the 2nd floor (accessible by escalator).
GUS natural soda, which stands for Grown Up Soda, had a sampling booth. I’m not a big soda drinker because most sodas are too sweet for me and contain a lot of artificial ingredients.
I decided to give GUS natural soda a try. My favorites were the dry cola and ruby red grapefruit. Dry cola is made from cola nut extract and has no preservatives like other colas. It’s also not super sweet.
Other flavors include dry pomegranate, dry meyer lemon, dry cranberry lime, valencia orange, dry crimson grape, and extra dry ginger ale.
Ruby red grapefruit is refreshingly delicious and sophisticated. It’s a little tangy and slightly sweet. I bought a 4 pack of the ruby red grapefruit soda. It’s a little pricey for soda, but there’s no other soda like this.
