I like your covert way of grinding. LOL. I bought a grinder for $15. I don't have a burr grinder but the coffee still tastes good. You can get grinders for cheap at Ross or Marshall's.

Yes, Blue Bottle coffee at home is the way to go. No lines. Supreme coffee when you want it. I want a porcelain drip too. Sigh! But I'm into mocha at the moment.

Great post Fanny! I love Blue Bottle as well!

Instead of waiting in the long lines....this is what I do!

Blue Bottle sells their very own porcelain drip with their logo for the same price of $16. Porcelain retains heat better than a $2 plastic drip. I buy their varieties of coffee beans from their kiosks or from their roasting facililty in Oakland (since I live in the east bay) for $7-$8 for a 1/2 pound bag. I had to invest in a really good conical burr grinder since they don't grind the beans for you. I don't advise using $20 spinning blade grinder. The really "covert" way is to sneak into your local grocery store and use their grinder. :)

Voila! Blue Bottle drip coffee in your home for a fraction of the cost! Denpending on how strong you like your coffee, one 1/2 pound bag of coffee can last me a week before the beans bad.
